CSS Profile

So Stanford says November 15 is the deadline to send in CSS profiles for Early Action applicants. Why is it so early? We won’t even know if we’re accepted by then. Is there something I’m not understanding about this?

All FA requests are due before applications are due for most colleges so they can provide you with FA information when they admit you.

You could always submit the FA request after the fact at some colleges. Not sure if Stanford is one of them. Your profile and FAFSA need to be updated in February after the taxes are filed for any financial package awarded to be confirmed.

Thanks so much for the reminder! I would’ve never seen the deadline, but has anyone who applied REA got an email about the CSS Profile from Stanford?

I did not receive an email or any other communication. If we do not make the 11/15 deadline, are we ineligible for financial aid?

I read for other schools that they’re fine with you sending it in later but you probably won’t know your financial aid package by the time you’re accepted (hoping we all get accepted!). This should probably be the case with stanford, not really sure though.

^…Aaaand where I read that was the first reply to this post. Sometimes I question my recall skills.
