I’m interested in going to a UC straight out of high school. However, I’m only interested in a FEW of the UCs. I understand that CSU is not as prestigious as the UC system, which is my main reason for wanting to go to a UC for undergraduate school. However, if I don’t get into the UCs I want, I will need backup options. I was thinking of going to a CSU for my bachelors degree, then a UC for grad school to get my masters. 1) is it very difficult to go to UCLA/UCSD/UCB for grad school after attending a CSU for undergrad? 2) how important is the college you attend for bachelors to employers? Thanks in advance!
a high GPA and a BA/BS from any of the 23 CSUs and an otherwise competitive application are solid qualifications for MOST grad school programs, UCs included. Some programs, like Business, want interesting and relevant work experience while others are all GPA and GRE (or whichever standardized test they require).
