Accepted this morning.
Good luck to you both @MarQ @Starkiller
thank you @Superman147 …what about you?
No problem! And I was accepted on april 5th. I checked my portal, I did not receive an email until later
congrats im happy for u @Superman147
My son was put on waitlist for fullerton and he also need to do the early start program for math (not his best subject) is He also has two other schools on his radar that accepted him we are going to visit them the next few weeks, but it makes no sense to pay the $182.00 dollars and do the early start math until he is accepted. Also how does it work if he gets accepted at the other college he put his deposit and housing on after may 1 and wants to go to fullerton is he locked into a college after may 1?
Has anyone accepted their admission to CSUF yet?
I checked my portal application and it stated “Your application file has been sent to the EOP Office for further review.”
it means you were denied from the regular admission process. but since you indicated on your application that you were interested in EOP, your application has been sent to them and EOP will make your final admission decision
This is really late, and I’m so sorry for all of you that have been having trouble with admissions. I just wanted to try and answer two questions that I saw on here earlier. First off, student life: even though CSUF is known as a commuter school, we have a large population of students who dorm and/or live in on or off campus apartments. The housing staff makes the dorming community feel like it’s own little city, so it doesn’t feel like a commuter school. If anything, residents grow even more attached to Fullerton because of all of the programs put on by housing. That being said, as a commuter, I still managed to find a close knit community on campus because there are so many clubs and organizations you can be a part of. As long as you make even a slight effort to meet people or show up to events, you’ll definitely have a great social life here.
Secondly, someone asked about housing options! Freshmen live in residence halls, which are pretty large rooms with two people. There are some triple rooms, but as I understand it, they are rarely used/only used if the double rooms fill up. Also, I’ve visited dorms at UCLA, UCI, UC Davis, SDSU, and CSULB and ours are the newest and largest, so the “closet-like dorm” image doesn’t really apply so much here. Four rooms share a bathroom (so 8 people), and the bathroom has two showers and two stalls. Security is really important to the housing community, so you need a registered ID card and a specific PIN that you will make to get into your rooms and bathrooms. Each floor also has its own lounge with a TV and living room area, as well as 1-2 study rooms. After your freshmen year, you can move out of the residence halls and into the on campus apartments, where we have single apartments (4 rooms of 1 person each, each with their own bathroom and a shared living space/kitchen) or double apartments (3 rooms of 2 people each, each room with its own bathroom and again, a shared living space/kitchen). I hope this helps with housing decisions for some of you!!
Now im nervous I hope EOP considers me
Oh and one last thing! Welcome Day on April 22nd is a REALLY great opportunity to see CSUF and all it has to offer. You’ll have lots of students there to welcome you and answer your questions, and many clubs will be there as well so you can get a glimpse of student life here. They’ll offer campus tours and housing tours, and they work really hard to make it a great day for you all. Welcome Day was what really sold me on my decision to choose Fullerton, even though I was already pretty sure I was going there over SDSU for financial reasons. It made me feel comfortable, excited, and happy on campus and with the decision I’d made, so I’m going to be involved with it this year so that I can hopefully help some of you in the same way
What are your other options @marQ
Thank you, that information was very helpful. How is the overall area of fullerton? I know it is next to Irvine which is very safe and nice. @Lulu0716
@Superman147 my other option is San Jose State University
That is also a great option! You should definitely call the admissions office on Monday and explain to them your dilema. Both schools are located in two completely different areas, I assume you are leaning more towards fullerton? @MarQ
Yes im leaning more to Fullerton. I hope they tell me good news on time.
It’s pretty safe! Most of Orange County is safe in general, the most common crime in the area/on campus is petty theft, specifically with bikes, but again, as long as you’re careful and lock up your bike, you should be fine.
