My son was accepted in February for computer science!! CA resident-not local
That is what I thought too. I checked her application and it said she was considered in state. Here is UCBerkeleyâs explanation. I canât find the CSU one right now.
CSULB is in my sonâs top two. We are from So Cal, but out of the area, and we want him in the dorms for freshman year. Has anyone heard on a tour, or found online, what percent of kids who want to dorm end up receiving housing? I am frustrated that the decision day is May 1, but he doesnât find out if gets housing until May 8. Thank you!
do they not guarantee housing like most schools for freshman?
No cal states guarantee housing as far as i know. Btw, in case you didnât know this about CSULB, youâre not allowed to have a car your freshman year.
I believe SDSU does guarantee housing. Iâm okay without a guarantee as long as the odds are good- I just need some numbers.
If you are not allowed to have a car, I would think they need to guarantee housing.
Me again. : ) Trying to help my son decide between UCSB (which is very local, he wants to move away) and CSULB. We keep hearing âcommuter schoolâ - but there are ~1300 freshmen in the dorms. Are kids finding their tribe in the dorms, and leaving with a group of friends for years 2-4? Thanks!
My niece is a Sophomore at CSULB and has had no issues finding like minded students. She is from the Southern California area but outside the local service area and is having the full Residential College experience. She loves the BEACH!!!
This was exactly what I wanted to hear right now. We just got back from a tour. thanks so much!
waitlist decision came out for me. Just accepted for healthcare management!
