CSUF Spring 2020 Transfers

@Rosemaryyy1 @vvbrose im also out of area and waiting to hear back from them! I sent in my application August 5th. Hopefully we do hear something soon??

@vvbrose I am a non-local student without an AA-T! I applied August 1st and just heard back yesterday.

@fiddleleaf123 heck yes! I’m a Public Administration major and I bet some of our classes will overlap (I know I have to take some psych classes, amongst other things as part of the degree!). I 'm honestly so excited!!

ok thx…but you are local to the area now right? I’m thinking those of us who don’t live “local” must be the ones left waiting . I’m so happy for you!

And thanks for starting this board btw…I’ve been checking it all the time and just now decide to post! lol

Nope, I’m in Long Beach! I think the cut off for what’s local is limited to a few cities in Orange County? This whole local vs. non-local thing is entirely confusing to me, to be totally honest… I’ve heard mixed things depending on who I spoke to at what campus… From what I gather, your status as local vs. non-local is always determined by your primary high school or community college that you graduated from, not the address you reside at. But someone at CSULB also said that you are considered local if you have at least 12 credits from a local community college (so for CSULB it would be LBCC). But who knows. I wish they’d be more transparent!

And you’re welcome

Hello! I am hoping to transfer to CSUF this spring, I have a GPA of 3.2 and am considered local. I have yet to hear to CSUF and am hoping that I get in. Congrats to all of you who have been accepted!

My local daughter hasn’t heard yet and she applied August 1st. I don’t think there’s an order, but the last couple years the acceptances rolled out much earlier. I think they just started Monday. I called admissions a few weeks ago and they said “by November.” Also, transfer office told us 2.8 for locals and were firm on that.

If you check on CSUF’s website the establish that they consider you local to Orange County if you attended an Orange County community college AND got majority of your college career credits from the OC community college. Meaning even though I took 4 classes at an Orange County college, and got my ADT from there, I would not qualify as a local because the majority of my credits came from a non-Orange county community college. Hope this helps anyone.

Not sure if you all have seen the stats on who actually gets accepted. It’s pretty interesting and puts things into perspective.

I filtered to New Undergrad Transfers/Spring to take a look at the trend.
