CSULB Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

@wanderwise It’s weird because there wasn’t student center tab for me when I logged into mycsulb until now. It just appeared but it says I am not authorized to access it :frowning: Is this normal?

@SIMYOUNG Maybe give it a little time and try again. If it doesn’t work tomorrow then I would reach out to the csulb help desk.

@wanderwise It works now! Thank you

My portal has updated and many more icons were added when I log in to the “mycsulb”. To accept offer just head to the student center and you should see there Accept/Deny offer.
If you just created account and only seeing few icons like SSO Help, Student Apps, BeachMail, etc… then give it a few days and it will show up on your mycsulb account.

I now have:
SSO Help
Student Apps
BeachMail
BeachScholarships
OneDrive - Student
Student Center
BeachSync
Parking
University Library
CareerLink - Student
BeachBoard

National Student Clearinghouse

@RichardBIV Wow, I am waiting on Cal Poly and majoring in finance too!

@SIMYOUNG Awesome!! Which one are you currently prioritizing? or in the same boat as me? where I will have to go to both campuses and see the life for myself.

Does anybody know when we can see our financial aid stuff? Like what they have to offer us as far as loans and grants go?

@RichardBIV Both schools have ups and downs. I might prefer to go to Cal Poly if they accept me but it’s a lot more difficult to get into. We should be hearing back the decisions by end of this week I believe. Good luck!

They still have me under review! The anticipation is killing me!!

Major: Art- Animation
GPA: 3.59
AA-T/AS-T: Yes, AA-T done by the end of Spring 2018
Prereqs: all done!
Golden 4: A, A, B, (IP done at the end of spring)
Local: In state but not local
pending: CSULB, CSUN
accepted: CSUF

I’m still under review as well. Extremely anxious. I check my self service application so many times a day. Ahh.

Has anyone gotten admitted for SOCIAL WORK?

I got my acceptance about 2 days ago so I thought I’d share my stats for any bio majors out there:
Major: Biology
GPA: 3.61 when applied, 3.43 after update
IGETC: Completed (missing documents for language tho)
Golden 4: Completed with As except 1 was a B
Prerequisites: Complete but 1 in progress
Local: Yes
AAT: No
Good luck to everyone out there! still waiting on UCs to make the final decision

I just called admissions at Long Beach to ask if I can change one of my GED classes as pass/no pass. Then I found another thing out. I guess I did not list the ADT on my application and then she started telling me about history and political science classes that must be completed by end of this spring otherwise this will impact my decision.

I had both the Political Science and History planned for this summer, so why was I conditionally accepted in this case and not rejected in the first place? I mean why would I want to get rejected after getting accepted?

Is this true about those history classes if they are not completed by end of the term the decision will be impacted? This person I talked to also was really confusing like she is new.

I havent taken any history or political science classes nor did I indicate that I would be taking them during the summer and i was still given conditional acceptance so i dont think it would matter

*Correction, I listed “Business Administration” or “Associate of Science” on my application instead of ADT. But I have both ADT and ADS completing at the end of this term.
I will most likely though if it doesn’t cause issues take the political science and history courses in the next year or so online at community college. Professor I want is not teaching in the summer unfortunately.

Will wait and see now, everything she told me seemed to really bum me out. Didn’t even answer my question in the end that my call originally was for. She just kept going on and on about history and political science class, that “even though they are recommended, they are required”. I will call again tomorrow and hope to get connected with other person.

Meanwhile still waiting for SLO decision.

Is there a difference between getting accepted and conditionally accepted?

@TheCrookedSource “Conditionally accepted” means that you have been accepted, provided that you can meet certain conditions that are stated in your acceptance letter. Plainly speaking, they say, “Yes, we accept you, if you do this (submit transcripts, etc…)”. They asked you to do something. If you fulfill this requirement, you are accepted. If not - the acceptance offer will not be valid anymore.

For those who are waitlisted, I was on the waitlist until they sent me my acceptance letter on May 14 last year. In the mean time, they may redirect your applications to other CSU’s. (I was redirected to CSUCI and SFSU.) Good luck everyone!
