I am applying to the President's Scholars Program at CSU Long Beach. I was wondering if there is anyone who was accepted to the program and could give me some advice regarding the application. What made your essay stand out from the rest? And how is the President's Scholars Program benefiting you?

It’s going to hard to find people who applied for this. Applicants have to be potential valedictorians of accredited California high schools or National Merit Finalists and Semifinalists, National Achievement and National Hispanic Recognition Scholars. To be honest, most students of that caliber are probably not choosing CSULB as their first choose school. Congrats on even qualifying for it. Good luck! :]

I am applying for irony’s sake.

In all seriousness, if you are eligible, chances are you have a good chance of getting it. Just be yourself and all that jazz. If you can really find reasons why you want to go to LB, make it evident in your paper.

Has anyone received a letter yet? When?

I went to the campus visit this past weekend and they said are sending letters out this week. Did you apply?

I’m assuming since you guys qualify for this scholarship, you guys must be really smart and have great stats. So if you don’t mind me asking, why CSULB? Is it a money issue or what?
