Hi, online I read that it’s increasingly harder for students from outside of CSULB’s region to gain admission. With that said, I was wondering what my chances were to enter and major in Sociology.
SAT: 1160
ACT:25
Weighted:3.6
CSU Apply GPA: 3.7

CSU Apply GPA: 3.7
Update: I’ve mostly taken general ed. classes, but have never received a D or F. In my junior year, I took a 3 college classes alongside with a B in an AP class. My senior year also includes 2 college classes and another AP class. So far, I’ve at least gotten a B in each college or AP course I’ve taken
CSULB like most CSU’s will admit by eligibility index and major. Being non-local and applying to an impacted campus with all majors impacted, the EI threshold is higher.
So based on your stats, your EI is (CSU GPA x800) + (SAT Math+ EBRW)= 4120 for SAT.
An EI of 3900-4000 has been competitive in past years, but with a record # of applications you cannot get a guarantee. You look like you have a good chance.
Best of luck.
you look like a very strong candidate but, be sure to apply elsewhere as well. Fullerton, Northridge, Chico are solid iptions. with a 4120 EI you will probably make into SDSU so, i’d apply there too.
good luck.
