@pvgirl2015 hey! where can you check that your transcript is pending evaluation? I still haven’t heard back from csun either. my portal just says that they have received my application
@Daelecengineer hi! in your portal under “checklist”, there’s a section titled “completed tasks”. under that it says “admissions”, and under that it says transcripts have been received/pending evaluation!
Has anyone been admitted for business administration yet?
checked portal on March 3rd. accepted. acceptance email came next day monday. CTVA major. local. 3.3. golden 4 AABB.
Hi!
I’m a transfer and I’m debating whether or not I should live in the dorms or off campus.
I’m aware this isn’t the correct form, but I find a lot of the users here helpful. Also, none of my questions on Reddit ever receive any exposure.
Living on Campus Pros:
I’d live with other girls my own age, with the same major as me.
I could walk to school and not have to worry about parking.
I would have more of the typical “college experience.”
Even if I don’t connect with my housemates, I could still connect with others on my floor or in my building.
Living on Campus Cons:
Sharing a small space with another person.
Sharing a room with someone I’m not guaranteed to like, while I could get my own bedroom for cheaper if I lived off of campus.
Since dorms are furnished, I would have no place to put my current furniture.
It costs extra to park my car.
Living off Campus Pros:
I’d have my own bedroom for the same price or cheaper than sharing a dorm room.
I would be able to bring my own furniture.
I could continue to live here after college.
I could possibly have my own bathroom.
I could possibly not have to pay extra for parking.
I could pick the location.
I could possibly pick my own roommates, depending on if I’m getting a group together myself or taking someone else’s spot.
Living off Campus Cons:
I’m isolating myself from the “college experience.”
If I have any issues with my housemates (them not paying rent, utilities, stealing, etc), I’m completely on my own because we’re all tied together on the lease.
No guaranteed parking.
Could be challenging to find other college students and organize an apartment search.
So, past CSUN students, current CSUN students, upcoming CSUN students, where did you live while attending Northridge and how did it work out for you? If upcoming, where are you planning on living?
@notavirgo I have the same problem… I really dont know where I should live and I don’t even know where to look for roommates if I end up doing off-campus.
CSU GPA: 3.9
Major: Accounting
Golden 4: Completed
IGETC: Completed
AS-T: Granted 02/14/2019
Transfer from Glendale CC
Accepted: CSULB, CSUN, & CSULA
Still waiting for decision: CPP
Received CSUN admission decision via email on 03/12/2019.
@mchoneybone congrats!! I got accepted into SFSU as well and am waiting for CSUN ))-:
hey @bellerzz ! thank you! what are your stats and major? i’ll help u research likelihood of getting in based off of that
@notavirgo i’m planning on living on campus in the apartments without kitchens and i’m doing a cheaper meal plan…this is gonna be my first time living away from home but I definitely would rather put up with whoever i’m assigned with than any rent payment issues with other people. I drive a car now but my lease ends in june and i’m going to be biking around campus and the city and taking the school trams, metro, or even ubers when I need to. I’ll be saving on gas, maintenance, parking, the parking permit, etc and hopefully helping the environment. Also looking forward to not having to be part of traffic anymore.
@mchoneybone I’m a psych major, transferring from non-local (Bay area to LA) CC w a 2.9 gpa and a few w’s. My alternative major i put was business, but I have no business background. I got into SFSU w business which I thought was weird, BUT ILL TAKE IT
Does anyone’s status say that they are a “freshman?” I’m supposed to be a junior transfer lol
@ashley31836 I was about to post the same question! I’m also a junior transfer but it says freshman. I don’t know what to do
@ashley31836 @Daelecengineer where does it say you guys are freshmen?
@pvgirl2015 when you go to your portal, it’s right above your admitted statement!
Denied!
Major: Economics BA
GPA: 2.49 as of Fall 2018
AA-T/AS-T: N/A
Pre-requisites: Will complete in Spring 2019. I’m missing Calculus, which I’m repeating from last semester, and Statistics.
Golden 4: Will complete in Spring 2019. I’m currently taking oral communications, but I received an A for Critical Thinking, C for Math, and I used my AP English Literature score for Written Communications.
Local: Yes, Los Angeles City College
Applied: CSULA, CSUN, Cal Poly Pomona, CSULB
Accepted: CSULB and CSULA
Denied: CSUN
It was a long wait, but thank goodness I know the answer now. CSUN is too far from where I live, so I’m not upset, but it would’ve been fun to brag that I got in with a 2.49 GPA like CSULB lol. Now I’m waiting for CPP!
@ashley31836 I called csun today to make srure that everything is ok and they said that they see I’m a upper division transfer and they don’t know why it says freshman on the portal
GPA:3.85
Pre-requisites: Will complete this semester
Golden 4: Completed
Non-local from San Diego
Decision received today! So glad I finally got good news after a long wait.
@Daelecengineer ohh I see… I think I remember seeing this happen to previous transfers last year as well… I dont think it should be a big problem. Itll probably get fixed later on?
After long wait, I got denied from CSUN and CSUF ): but I’m commuting to SFSU! Not SoCal like I wanted but ill be able to live w my best friend
