So for my application, there is a short essay section asking for a particular experience of cultural difference I have had or observed and to explain what I learned from it. I want to talk about how my religion (christianity) involves morals and making morally correct decisions, and how I have gotten made fun of because of it. Is that okay for "culture"?

And I would say that since I have been taking actions that aren’t exactly “socially popular or acceptable” I have learned how to embrace my own religious beliefs and not feel shamed for being who I am.

I would not…unless you’re applying to a heavily religious college (and then your essay wouldn’t stand out)…I can’t articulate it easily but I think the essay could stray into areas where you don’t want it to go…making a stand that only christians could be moral, for example…I don’t know…I get it that its central to your identity but I have a gut feeling that it would be a mistake.

Wow you’re totally right. Is there any way I could bring religion into it though? I have no special cultural aspects in my life besides it… @SouthernHope
