High School: inner-city college prep school, rigorous, the only public school in the state that requires an entrance exam to get in.</p>

<p>Courses: Currently taking 3 AP classes, AP Chemistry, AP Literature, and AP Japanese, and one honors class. Last year I took AP US History (got a 4 on the AP exam) and AP Biology (got a 3) and an honors class, sophomore year I took 3 honors classes.</p>
<p>EC: student at an art studio for 4 years, I now hold 2 leadership positions: Studio advisory board member at this art program as well as co-editor of the annual art magazine for this program. I also co-designed and co-facilitated 3 shrine art workshops for children in summer camps during the summer. Peer chemistry tutor, Math team member, exhibit educator at the Providence Children's Museum. I also play the piano.</p>
<p>Awards: 1st place in the level 2 division of Nat'l Japan Bowl in Washington DC, an academic competition based on language proficiency and knowledge in Japanese culture, received a book award from the Dartmouth College alumni club of RI for academic leadership.</p>
<p>Essay: I talk about my relationship with my sister, how her deployment to Iraq is affecting me and how she is one of my main sources of motivation and inspiration.</p>
<p>Teacher Rec: I didn't see it, but I'd say it's pretty good. I got an A+ in his class (AP Bio) and I was also a pretty active participant. :)</p>
