No, there is no automatic rejections for a lack of EC’s. However, they will wonder what you did with your outside of school and why you have few EC’s.
There is no automatic rejection but I’m curious what a school like UCSB would do. They claim that their selection criteria is 50% GPA/test scores/A-G and 50% personal insight questions and activities.
