Currency Exchange! Crap I forgot!

So do they take US credit cards in Canada? Also, is there places in airports where currency can be exchanged?

Most credit cards can be used anywhere in the world. One exception is discover which is not used in Europe - don't know about Canada. If it is Visa or Mastercard or AMEX you are fine.

Most international airports in Europe I have been in have currency exchange places. Your other option - and a better one exchange rate wise - is to use a debit card to get cash from an ATM machine anywhere in the city you are visiting. You will probably pay a small fee but you get the bank exchange rate instead of the tourist rate.

im from montreal, visa/MC is accepted pretty much everywhere, and there are tons of currency exchange places at the airport and downtown. you can also go to any bank to exchange cash

Yes you can use credit cards. You can also use an American debit card in an ATM worldwide provided it is compatible with your card. In Canada it will be. The machine will give you Canadian dollars and debit your account for Canadian dollars and you will probably get a better exchance rate than that at an airport booth.

Note that the exchange rate isn't as favorable to Americans as it once was--prices are pretty much at a 1:1 ratio. While 5 years ago, the cost of attending McGill for an American was about $20k USD, now it's up to $30k because the exchange rate has risen. It costs about the same in Canadian dollars though.

"now it's up to $30k"
It's not that high.
