I saw a recap headline for Grey’s Anatomy on the Vulture site and it mentioned that you needed to have watched the Station 19 episode to get the full picture. I read the recap and will probably delete Grey’s from my DVR, rather than watch. I have been a faithful viewer, but it’s time for that show to pack up and leave. I know ABC sees it as a cash cow, but I am disappointed with this season.
I am also ready to give up New Amsterdam. Thank goodness for PBS - Grantchester, Call the Midwife and All Creatures Great & Small spread out help to offer some quality shows.
IMO, you really did not. They had some crossover characters, including Ben, but really, the dead patient was interchangeable with any other patient of.the week. It was certainly not as critical to see both episodes as it was when DeLuca died.
Im sure it was really sad for the Station 19 fans but I had no idea who the guy was. Basically for me it was a Grey’s episode with unknown characters they don’t bother introducing.
@2VU0609 : you don’t need to watch Station 19 to follow Grey’s episode. Spoiler: a guy dies at the end of Station 19. He’s still dead in Grey’s Anatomy.
It was a pointless crossover (whereas the DeLuca story required you to watch both.)
I like Grantchester this season. As always, the pretty surroundings and classy exteriors belie a pretty ugly society.
I like the Minnesota story and hope they use that setting more as a change of pace from Seattle. Looking forward to their generic shots of the city and Mississipi river, Grant avenue, parks, etc., covered in snow or ice (being unironic -’ snow on The Twin cities’>“rain on Seattle”.)
@skieurope
You’re right, they probbaly want drama for Bailey, but that toddler needs to be with her grandparents.
Well, the “when” has been answered. That was quick.
With the new TV season starting, I’m bringing this back!
On the docket for me: Quantum Leap (next generation :p)
Have you watched any new show?
Or returned to an old favorite?
Or returned to an old favorite?
The 2 NCIS franchises that aired this week, the FBI and Chicago franchises, Survivor, The Amazing Race, Dancing with the Stars, The Voice, The Masked Singer. And it’s only Wednesday.
Have you watched any new show?
Nope
Watching Handmaid’s Tale and House of Dragons. Would like some new Ted Lasso.
Reporting back on Quantum Leap: so far, it’s okay, but it’s taking itself too seriously. I don’t really care WHY Ben has decided to leap, for instance, I just want him to have to adapt to new people, new situations, not know what to do, etc. There’s comedy potential there! I’ll keep watching till I decided one way or the other.
Am looking forward to two second-season shows: Abbott Elementary, and Ghosts.
me too!!
Yes, two episodes of Ghost are out which my wife and I need to catch up on. That is a really nice show that is funny and creative.
I like CBS Ghosts a lot, and started watching BBC Ghosts too (should be on Britbox). They’re slightly different so I was all confused at the start of this season and had to rewatch Episode 1 for each.
I tried to give La Brea a second chance but I just couldn’t. They make just too many senseless decisions, do too many stupid things. I mean, really, isn’t it a well-known fact that if you see a cute baby animal in the wild you don’t touch them and you back out as fast and non threateningly as you can because the parents are not far and they’ll see red if they see you near their baby. Or who walks around in today’s world without a packpack, purse, fanny pack, anything beside just a jacket? How do you sharpen a (nicely straight) stick or make a fire with your bare hands? (I’m not telling you who does what when just in case you want to watch and decide for yourself).
Anyway, I gave up.
Liking Young Sheldon!
Still sticking with Quantum Leap.
Has anyone watched Walker, Independence? Is it more like Dr.Quinn, Medicine Woman, or like Walker but with more dust&single-action colts?
Any new shows this season that are worth recording?
It’s too early for me to say “record” (big stamp of approval). I want to see if shows with promise follow up on it, or if a potentially interesting but so-so show grows out of its shell.
Quantum Leap is still finding its sealegs.
Just started East New York, so far so good if you want a new cop show.
So you can check out Ep1 for these imho.
I plan on checking out “The Rookie Feds”, “Alaskan Daily”, “So help me Todd” but if you all have opinions you’d like to share, I’m all ears (especially wrt not wasting my time).
The Rookie and now Rookie Feds are definitely junk food shows that are totally enjoyable. They are so unbelievable but I find them fun and entertaining.
I wish BBC Ghosts was on Britbox, but last time I checked it was not.
Re new shows, I’m liking So Help Me Todd (CBS on Thursday nights). I pretty much like anything with Marcia Gay Harden and I also enjoy Skylar Astin (really miss Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and he was a big part of that, also Pitch Perfect).
Any new shows this season that are worth recording?
I am not watching anything new; I have too many returning shows to watch. If anything looks like an early critically acclaimed or ratings winner, I may binge over the holiday hiatus. That’s what I did with Ghosts last year.
Rookie Feds won’t be on my list, since I’ve never watched The Rookie.
I watched the first episode of Alaskan Daily and liked it. I like shows that have a continuing thread through the episodes but also has a story line that starts and finishes in each episode. I plan to put on my list of things to watch for now.
Watched the first two episodes of “So Help me Todd” - not too bad. A bit unbelievable but then a lot of shows are. Might stick with it for a few more episodes and see how it goes.
Been thinking I should watch East New York - always liked Jimmy Smits.
