I read online that Cornell is thinking about expanding their Environmental Sciences programs and creating a separate school for it. Does anyone have any new info on this?

It’s not going to be a separate school, but rather a ‘School’ within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. It probably won’t happen for at least one or two years.

That said, it really wouldn’t affect the student experience. It might strengthen it on the margins, but you will still be able to major in natural resources or science of earth systems or atmospheric sciences, etc. What will change is how the departmental funding and professorial hiring will work.
