How does Duke work with giving sports events tickets to students? mainly basketball
and any idea about the job placement % for BME and EE majors? Are those who want jobs able to find them easily?
Thanks

Tickets? Tickets?! We don’t need no stinkin’ tickets.

Student attendance at Duke sporting events is free (well, included in the already significant cover charge) and basically first come, first served. For most sports, that means walking in at or slightly before game time. For men’s basketball, it usually involves several hours of waiting in line and can entail camping out in front of Cameron for an extended stay. See the kvillenation website for details.

I would say Durham is about as safe as an other urban college town. It has its murders and grand theft autos. No surprise there. As far as campus security, I think Duke is above average in terms of active security and police presence at all times of the day. Duke takes safety very seriously, and I do not know anyone who has personally been a victim of crime here. If you’re at all intelligent which I presume you are or else you wouldn’t be here seriously inquiring about Duke, you won’t have a problem.

See the above answer. Tickets are free but are first come first serve. I haven’t a clue about the placement question but seeing as Duke has the #1 or 2 BME program in the country, Im gonna go out on a limb and say its pretty high.

Thanks so much! All I wanted was to know a Duke students opinion on how safe they felt at duke. Thanks :)
