I’m a current high school senior who was admitted to Vassar EDII, got great financial aid (thank you very much) and will be attending in the fall. I’ve heard that at Vassar, the professors really make the classes. Are there any professors or classes I should go out of my way to experience?
PERSONALLY, I’m interested in biology and environmental science (particularly population ecology) and also enjoy history, studio art/art history, and reading/writing (especially detective novels). I’m open, however, to any subject you might recommend.
Intro psyc with professor Baird is really good, in my experience. She’s a very engaging professor.
My favorites:
Intro art history (full-year) - taught by the whole dept together!
Intro microecon / intermediate microecon - Ben Ho (the prof really matters)
Anything with Liu Haoming (Chinese dept)
Anything with the Russian dept
I didn’t take anything in the English dept, but the profs there are beloved and teach on all sorts of literature (even comics and standup comedy)
