It’s a gamble, but if you’re really serious about working your best and searching constantly for scholarships, I think you can alleviate your debt some (but probably not completely). There are so many scholarships out there; you just have to keep looking for them and keep applying.
It’s also worth mentioning that getting a part-time job while studying at NYU is completely feasible. In fact, probably the majority of students work in some capacity or another by their sophomore year.

Do you know what work study jobs are like for Tisch students. my d’s financial aid includes work study and we are wondering what types of jobs the kids get.

To my knowledge, work study isn’t school-specific. I know a girl in CAS whose work study involves managing the Gallatin front desk, for example. I think you can try and get a work study in your interested field, but there is no requirement to do so. The only way being a Tisch student affects your work study is schedule-wise, since Tisch students tend to be completely full with classes some days but then relatively free on others.

I have a question, but I first have to preface it by saying that I know it’s a silly question, and I know it’s dumb to care what other people think blah blah blah, but I’m still curious…

Do other NYU students judge those who are in the liberal studies program?

Hey so NYU was my first choice! And I got rejected I mean I cant blame them my SAT scores were up there and my gpa could be better. Im going to Saint Francis in the fall but Im dead set on transferring the first chance I get! So do you know how many credits one would need to transfer to NYU? And is it a smart idea to transfer for spring semester (Ill have 12 college credits only then. And is there a better chance of getting in if I apply with no financial aid? I know its a lot of money but NYU is my dream school, Ill do anything for it. And thank you so much :)

Have you taken any animation classes at Kanbar? Are they usually quite popular? Do you see any/many CAS students in the animation classes? D is CAS freshman next year, but is very keen on taking animation classes in Tisch and hence the questions
