Hey guys, just want to ask if there is anyone who intends to major in chemistry or physics here?

I'm thinking about majoring in Chemical Engineering...

I know that you guys may not know this, but what's the thing with aero/astro engineering? I don't exactly understand their program for undergrads.

I think this year SLE is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 3:15-7 with a dinner break (I think it's a whole hour) plus an extra hour till 8 on Thursday

Check the undergraduate engineering handbook http://ughb.stanford.edu/OSA/handbook/handbookfiles/handbooks/06-07/hb2006-07.pdf

I'm a physics major. I'm a sophomore so I can tell you about freshman year and a tiny bit about physics after freshman year.

marlgirl I want to know about Physics after freshman year....and what courses did you take winter/spring?

And I'm a pre-med chem major specializing in biochemistry...new to CC, but anywho, whaddaya wanna know?

Jwj, can you reply to http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=283463 this thread? I think they could use your opinion.

cokezero: I'm in the same physics track as marlgirl. We took the entire 60 series last year and 105 this fall. 105 is an electronics lab, the first in a three-quarter lab sequence. Some people take 105-107-108 in the same year, but we're not. We're both taking 120 in the winter and, presumably, 121 in the spring (intermediate E&M sequence). It's also possible to take 110 (intermediate mechanics) spring of sophomore year, but I'm not going to as my schedule is full.

After freshman year, you get a bit more freedom in scheduling courses, but it's more in terms of in what order you take things. You can do the lab sequence at any time, as well as stat mech (170-171), E&M (120-121), and mechanics (110). Quantum requires that you take E&M and mechanics first. And each course is only offered once per year, so you have to be a little careful with scheduling, but for the most part things fit together pretty well.

I'll be taking 110 and 121 in the spring. If you PM me around admit weekend time I can tell you a lot more about physics at Stanford.
