Curve Predictions March SAT

SAT math only seems easy because the concepts are easy. Everyone I've talked to who says the test is "easy" ends up getting 650-700. People like me who appreciate the ability needed typically score higher.

well 650 is pretty good, 490 is the avarage soooooo.....
Id be preety glad to get that score (700), that just means that next time ill do better, and possibly an 800.

Chicken and rice plus everything nice
all rolled up hot in a sourdough roll
sweet and sour and a side of spice
with a steaming good soup in a ceramic bowl.

Mama mia! Bon appetit!
Good to make and good to eat
Take some sugar, spread it flat
Eat so much it makes you fat.

what is everyone talking about concerning the January 09 Curve for math.. i got 8 questions wrong, no omits.. and got a 670..

What exactly is the -x on curve predictions? Is it number of questions missed or number of raw points incorrect (number of questions missed/4)?

In January, I got five WRONG on the math, and none blank, and got a 700.

If you want to know what the curve is going to be, you can see the ranges in the CB SAT book after every practice test. It will show you your best and worst shot if you have an idea of what you got. But, honestly, april 7th is the only way to know!

As for math/cr hard/easy debate, I think it all depends on your specific strengths on whether it was easy or hard. Math is easy for me and my best section, but I thought this section was challenging. Same with CR (but not my best section). Basically there is no such thing as a section being easy or hard because it all depends on the way each person's brain works.
My guess is we won't have too generous of curves (except maybe CR) because a LOT of people take the SAT in march, and from what I heard (I could be wrong), the curve is normally not great. I know it depends on the test, but the amount and level of people taking the test matters too.

I'm pretty sure CB takes into account the strength of the testing group when determining the curve.

Also, a larger testing group doesn't necessarily mean a smarter one.

College Board explains what it does in standard scoring of the SAT in a publication I link to frequently in posts in this forum.

http://www.collegeboard.com/research/pdf/rn14_11427.pdf

well, the math for me was pretty easy? missed 2 or 3 at most?
i didn’t get the indian passage for the CR.
i got the camera in courtrooms and some random artists…
writing was ****… the essay prompt was O____O
but math curve won’t be generous.
the writing will be alright.
the CR curve should be generous.

CR curve will be like, -5 = 800. LOL!

Guys did you really have to bump a thread from last year
I looked through a lot of it wondering what the hell everyone was talking about till I saw the date like 10 minutes later =

Why is this even bumped? There are many threads discussing this that are actually from the recent SAT…

math:
780
760
750
730

Cr
800
800
800
790
790
780
770

Writing:
800
780
750
730
710

That is absolutely fallacious. ^

Don’t the results for the SAT’s come out on April 1st? People are mentioning April 7th

the college board website says april 1st

This thread is from 2009.

We really can’t make a difference. The Collegeboard has already scored our test as we speak…:/
