I'm currently taking Psych 1 and am wondering what constitutes a solid A. The syllabus basically says that anything over 90% will be "some sort of A," but I'm asking whether there's a numerical threshold for getting a solid A. Thanks

it’s based on a curve, so if everyone else but you gets a 92%-100% on everything, then i doubt 90 or 91% will be some sort of A. the numbers are different every year, 95% is “solid A” at least based on when I took it 2 semesters ago, but does your teacher give you the summary statistics (avg n SD?) if so, that’s a good gauge of how you’re doing. avg’ing +1 SD is solid A town imo

“some sort of an A” means as long as you get >90%, you WILL get at least an A-, regardless of how everyone else does.

so if everyone else gets 92-100%, but you got like a 90%. that’ll be an A-.
but if no one got more than 91%, and you got 90%, that will probably give you a A or A+.

thats how it was when i took it last year. its a semi-curve thing. the prof only curves when he needs to, if a certain number of people gets above 90%, then there will be no curve, no A unless >90%.
