<p>I believe curves are determined so a percentage of test-takers achieve a certain score (ex: top .1% of CR receive 800’s). If more people prep and miss fewer questions, then curves will be harsher. </p>
<p>This is from someone who scored a 2330 in March (-2 CR, -1 math, -2 writing) which was (780,770,780). I felt screwed over by the curve, but that’s how it is now. Too many people study for the SAT :)</p>
<p>-1 was 770 indeed. it sucks, because my other friend took it in september and -1 was a 780 for her ):</p>

<p>and how much will my essay affect my score? i didn’t get to finish my essay with a conclusion and only had one (overly extended) example for my point that spanned two paragraphs… i think i might get around an 8-10 on it and im kind of bummed out because i think i did well in the multiple choice part. )=</p>
