THANKS so much.
the () are just things that i would apply to if i did apply to that school

----If you could also categorize the list into a potential reach/match/safety type thing that would be really helpful so i could see where i stand----

THANKS AGAIN
if anything else is needed let me know

bumpity bump?

Very weak stat EC for direct/guaranteed med programs. Chances for colleges ONLY, not including ridiculously hard special programs.

Reach:
Stanford
U Penn (dentistry program)
Brown (PLME)
Johns Hopkins
Columbia University
MIT
Wash U in St. Louis
Harvard
Cal Tech (EA and going for med-scholars program w/ UC SD)
Rice Uni (rice/baylor med program)

Match:
USC (going for BA/MD program)
University of Pittsburgh (med program guarantee)
Case Western (med program)
George Washington U (med program)

Not Chancing:
UC Berkeley
UCLA
UC SD (will try for 8yr med program)
UC I

I would suggest applying to
1,2,6: reaches you are excited about
3,4,5: UCs are good choices for CA residents
7,8: match/reaches
16,17 Higher probability admits
Like the above poster, I have no knowledge of the special programs.

thanks so much for the input. I only put those programs on there just because i might try for them (i dont care too much if i dont get in)
but thank you so much
anyone else please help me narrow it down

Check the SAT II requirements for Brown PLME (and for the other programs). I believe that they may require chemistry or some other specific tests.

Brown PLME program is supposed to be for pre-meds who want to explore humanities or non-science subjects, isn't it? Doesn't sound like you, according to what you've listed here. I'd forget about that one unless you can present some compelling reason to choose Brown other than the fact that they have a guaranteed med school program.

Hi stueydue,
Here is a link to the USC 2008 acceptances thread. Most of the ones who were accepted the last week of January were invited to interview for the Trustee and Presidential scholarships. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/454785-stats-only-usc-official-decisions-fall-2008-a.html?highlight=trustee+stats Check it out.
