Should I go to Vandy on a full tuition and give up a Chicago education in economics?
Do you guys think it's worth, in my case, roughly 16k a year?
Thanks

Figure out the opportunity cost!

If you can handle the 16k a year and are OK with Chicago weather (plus the student body at Chicago) then go to Chicago, because its economics is absolutely superb.

Vanderbilt, in terms of the students who go there, is EXTREMELY different from Chicago. Chicago students have a bit of a reputation of being a little nerdy and unconventional (some might say strange). Most Vanderbilt students are not like that.

Then again, Vanderbilt is pretty big with the Greek system and if you’re not the type of person who’d enjoy that, then Chicago might be a little more appealing.

I’m in the same situation.
I find Vandy student’s lack of academic passion to be unsettling. However, I’m not sure I want to take on the debt that Chicago will leave me with.

Aurora, just from that statement its pretty obvious Chicago is a much better social fit.

If swen agrees with it, well then the same thing about social fit applies.

“I find Vandy student’s lack of academic passion to be unsettling.”
Want a blanket with that statement?

What lack of academic passion?
