Oh, and my stats are: ACT 33, gpa 3.95 unweighted, shadowed/interned at dental clinics for 150+ hours, and attended Dentistry Research program in Boston- was selected as Finalist. Case pays a lot of attention to the essays for PPSP
Just returned from CWRU PPSP 2-day interview. Very impressive university. Strong pre-Health programs. Cultural campus. Medical epicenter. Research-friendly for undergraduates. Just curious what others thought of CWRU PPSPâŠ
When do the results come out? Not so sure about Cleveland cityâŠ

@Arnkim or @yaleivyleague did either of you end up getting selected as a PPSP student for the upcoming school year? If so, can you please share what was asked in the interviews and some details of what made you an outstanding applicant?
@WineDarkSea2018 how much would you say shadowing is required? I donât have much shadowing but I have a lot of other medically related activities.
Do you have some shadowing?
How much volunteering or research have you done?
During the summer, I spent 40 hours each week doing research. In the school year, I spend about 20 hours each week doing research and volunteer weekly at my local hospital. I donât have too much shadowing, but I have trained clinically as a phlebotomist and drew blood from patients.
I think if you have significant research/volunteering and some shadowing, that would be good.
What was the essay prompts for Case Westernâs PPSP program last year?
searching around the internets I see at least one prompt:
The Pre-Professional Scholars Program grants conditional admission to a CWRU professional school (dental medicine, law, medicine, and social work) for a very select group of first-year undergraduate students.
Pre-Professional Scholars Essay 1:
By applying to the Pre-Professional Scholars Program, you are applying to gain admission to professional school earlier than students who apply in the traditional way. Please indicate why youâre interested in your chosen profession. How do you see yourself being particularly suited to this field? What events and/or experiences have led you to your choice? This essay should be between 250 and 500 words in length.
The new CWRU Health Sciences campus opened this summer. This is the location of the new free dental clinic at CWRU, MD and nursing labs and more, about a mile to the west of main campus, near the Cleveland Clinic. Health line public buses run up and down Euclid past the Cleveland Clinic and down to the Lake Erie/Waterfront Downtown Cleveland. Every Case student gets a bus pass to ride the Healthline public bus.
