CWT tryouts kick your butt physically. You have to do a lot of things like ruck march and run very long distances. You only have to sign up at club night to tryout, but it is very rare that a plebe makes the team his or her first try. It is possible but very difficult

That's what I like to hear. It feels good to know that I have this school year to continue training. Looks like I'll have to switch training from the one-mile to some longer distances. Also on the DMI website were some other clubs such as the infantry tactics club. Do these hold the same standards as the CWT or how are they different? Basically I'd just like to fit as much tactical training as possible in the academic year, so I wonder what kind of club will do that for me. From the website it appears that the CWT is the best choice for that. Oh well, new challenges just means more training.

Definitely increase your distances, I think they had to run 6 miles this year. You don't have to try out for the infantry tactics club, you just show up. If you want to shoot a lot definitely go CWT if you want a little more tactics go infantry tactics club. They both are good choices

hahah good luck with cwt. you'll be competing with plebes who are prior service army rangers, and more than likely combat vets. just keep that in mind.
