D-Day

Today's the day for a lot of us. I'm thinking there's a lot of stress, nerves, and excitement going around, so a thread for all that seems the thing.

So, how is everyone feeling? Anxious? Excited? Sick to your stomach? Ridiculously impatient?

Personally, I'm somewhere between nerves and wanting to jump up and down and scream that it's March, meaning that soon it will be May.

And, of course, good luck to everyone!

I luckily only have one app due today, but I am extremely nervous. I haven’t quite finished my application yet so I’m just hoping that I am able to write a strong essay. It’s my Brown app so I can’t help but be nervous.

I’m pretty much trying to relax myself right now. I just found out today that my transcripts has not been sent out yet. I requested them from my CC over two weeks ago, but because the person in-charge of it was on break (W-T-EF??? In this time of year?) they weren’t sent. I was freaking out, and got into a phone call frenzy mode, calling all the schools I’m applying to. They all said that it’s fine but I don’t trust them…
Anyways, my school told me that the transcripts will be mailed out tomorrow.
I’d be so mad if I don’t get into any of my schools because of late transcripts!

@ 45daysinrome: A similar thing happened to me with my high school transcripts. It made me stress out so much. All I can say is that I sure hope everything settles right for both of us.

Thanks GoldenFinch! And to all us here, agonized over the horrible waiting part: Good luck!

Haha the wait is killing me!!! I want to know now and I haven’t even submitted my major applications. btw title of this thread made me lol.

Plus I made a lot of friends at my school and I really care about them, it kinda sucks leaving them. Sometimes it’s not the school that makes you happy, but the people.

as for you guys: Haha a late transcript means nothing, I am sure it will be fine, especially if its one day late. they have a notification process if anything is missing and u are allowed to submit it then, so sending it now or in a few weeks when u get the notification will still be fine :D

Goof luck to everyone, I really hope you all make it, and I mean that sincerely. TRANSFER CLASS OF 2013 and 2012 OHH RAHHHH

Ha, I’m glad the title amused. It’s what we used to call deadline on my high school paper, and I thought it fitting here.

And as far as transcripts, while that is stressful, I’ve always thought as long as the pieces you, the applicant, are responsible for are in by deadline, you should be fine. It’s not like you have any control over your school officials. My high school transcripts, which were supposedly sent out last week, have yet to be received anywhere, but I’m just telling myself they haven’t been officially filed yet. Right?

Haha, well, here’s to hoping.

As far as high school and college transcripts go, do the school officials HAVE to send them out or can I mail the transcripts myself if I have the them?

You will most likely need an official copy. Meaning a copy sealed in an envelope and signed by the school.
Very few -if any- colleges will consider unofficial copies.

and Wow… I just realized my earlier post is just filled with grammar errors.

Well I requested official transcripts from both my high school and already received my college transcript. They’re official and sealed. Do they really have to be signed or what?
If anything I guess I could ask the school officials to sign them just in case but I just don’t trust them in mailing them out haha

If they’re sealed then they are probably signed or stamped. Just send them.
