I suppose I essentially made this thread to acquire some information regarding what it's like to go to school at Wellesley. What are some of the components that you enjoy at Wellesley? What are some things that you hate, if anything? Are you glad you decided to attend Wellesley? I'm just trying to get an idea of some of the things that students do at Wellesley in regard to how the education is run and how their days are conducted. Do you feel comfortable at the school and free to express yourself while indulging yourself within an array of possibilities and opportunities? I'm essentially trying to gather a comprehension of how well-liked this school is by the students who go Wellesley. From what I've read, it sounds like a safe campus that provides students with an array of resources and encouragement that enables them to succeed in the real world. I suppose I'm just trying to confirm this with you guys and gain a perspective of what it's really like to go to Wellesley. Thanks for your time!:)

Aww, no one can answer any of these? That’s ok, I understand there are less than 3,000 people who go to Wellesley so it’s awesome that there are even people who are on CC haha:)

It’s such a broad question. I really like Wellesley, and I have felt comfortable here right from the start. Some of my favorite things, in no particular order, are how supportive in general my friends and classmates are, how accessible and invested the professors are, and how beautiful the campus is. Some things I don’t like are that not much is open late for a night owl, that the town of Wellesley doesn’t have much to offer besides the basics (which isn’t nothing, to be sure!), and that sometimes my fellow students exhibit a rather unattractive whiny sense of entitlement. Of the things I don’t like, the first two are rather minor, and the last is a different way of expressing that sometimes the people can be annoying–which I don’t think Wellesley has a monopoly on. I’m very happy I chose to attend Wellesley. I don’t think I would be happier anywhere else–as happy, perhaps, but I really don’t think happier.

Hope that answer your question, at least somewhat.

Yes it did:) Sorry for the broad questions, thanks for taking the time to respond. I’m glad it worked out favorably for you.

Yeah, that is a very broad question – and it’s midterms so the few of us who are on here probably aren’t frequenting the site as much…

So, in honor of procrastination here is my answer:
I generally have a love/hate relationship with Wellesley. I love that I’m not treated as a number, my professors know who I am and welcome me getting to know them, my friends are supportive, caring, smart, and driven, and there are opportunities here that I would not get anywhere else.

Similar to advantagious, I don’t like that there’s not much open past 10pm on campus, or about 8pm in the ville. Sometimes I get annoyed that Wellesley is located in the suburbs and not in a city, especially in regards to transportation as I don’t have a car/ don’t like driving. And when it snows in October, I think I should have stayed on the West Coast…

Overall, I’m glad I’m here. It’s my senior year and I’m going to make the most of it. The alums I’ve talked to all miss Wellesley dearly and I can see that I will be missing it after graduation as well. It’s a really supportive community and there is probably no other time in your life where you’ll be surrounded by a majority of driven women who want to achieve and “make a difference in the world,” as cheesy as it sounds.

No dependable transportation. You end up waiting in the snow, stressing about all you’re work…if you’re lucky.

In all honesty, Wellesley is an oscillating place. Stress levels paired with female hormones…parody waiting to happen.

agree with above posts.
The transportation is well not bad but not good. If you miss a bus, you will have to wait about an hour though fortunately, that never happened to me.

Professors are amazing. I don’t know how they remember names after meeting me once. Of course, some could be boring, but they are nice, nonetheless
And my English professor gives me one and a half page, typed, feedback on my essays. That is incredible.

Hate to repeat, but people are very supportive and caring. I got three thanksgiving invitations when I told them I am not going home for thanksgiving.

I am a first-year and I am glad I chose Wellesley. I get homesick but it is manageable. It’s stressful, but there are a lot of fun activities :P
