D'Amore-McKim School of Business

My daughter is a senior in graphic design and came home her first two summers - no classes, no co-op. Her third summer (after her middler year) she started co-op in Summer 2 and Fall. (Art students start co-op later than most since they have to take more classes to get training before they go to work for pay.) She got paid $13/hour on her first co-op. the she went to class in spring and will have summer 1 off again this year, then do her second co-op Summer 2 and Fall at $15/hr. Then she finishes up in Spring 2015 and graduates. 5 years, 4 years of tuition, two summers completely off, and two summers with Summer 1 off, Summer 2 on co-op. She made enough to pay for her room and board during co-op so it was a wash for us, and her personal growth and interviewing experience was amazing. She is now very comfortable in the job seeking environment and has a wonderful portfolio with two real job s under her belt – there is no other way to get this experience.

My son will probably start this fall in D’Amore McKim honors if we can afford it. We’re from VA and he’s still waiting on William & Mary.
