Northeastern D'Amore Mckim vs Binghamton School of Management??

Hi,

I recently was admitted to Northeastern D’amore McKim as a fall 2017 transfer student from Binghamton. However, now I don’t know if I really want to go anymore b/c due to the 2 six month co-op program, I don’t think I can graduate within 4 years and I am worried about not having summer vacation since students usually spend their summers doing co-op or going to school. I am conflicted as I do enjoy Northeastern’s campus/environment but I wouldn’t have time to go on vacation during the summers if I attend the school. Also, a few of my courses that I’m taking at Binghamton won’t transfer over, so it would take longer for me to graduate.

For anyone currently in D’amore Mckim, do you think it’s worth the sacrifice of your summers since you don’t have the traditional “4 month summer break” that a lot of college students have? Should I just stick with Binghamton or transfer to Northeastern?

P.S. my financial aid package for Northeastern is 3k/year less than that of Binghamton. However, money isn’t my main concern, I’m more worried about my summers and if it’s worth it in the long run.

If you are worried about not having summer vacations then Northeastern is not the school for you. Will you be doing summer internships at Bing or just relaxing?

I’m not doing summer internships at Bing, but I’m planning to find an internship in New York City this summer.

If you do not buy into the coop model them Northeastern is not right for you. It is part of the culture.

If you’re trying to find an internship in NYC this summer, NEU can basically offer the same thing

There’s not really a difference between internships and co-ops aside from 4 months vs 6 months

July - December (co-op) vs May - August (internship)

Imo, just do NEU because you won’t have to worry about not being able to find summer internships if you were at another school. Experience is pretty vital for the vast field of business majors out there
