Dance auditions and decisions 2017/18

@SCMHAALUM congrats!

@SCMHAALUM Congrats on NYU - that’s awesome! NYU was a no for us, which we knew from being cut at the audition, so no surprise there. Got waitlisted at Columbia (Barnard), so that may still be a possibility. Like Fordham/Ailey, at least it’s not a NO. : ) Got accepted at Connecticut College (BFA program). Still have 3 more decisions we are waiting on. At least they have to tell us by Sunday, so the waiting is almost over. Maybe we’ll be blessed with good news on Easter!

Thanks everyone! @pushee1 Did your daughter audition with Columbia/Barnard?

@SCMHAALUM There was no audition for Columbia/Barnard. If you can get in to the school academically, you can be a dance major. But it’s a BA. My D has only been dancing for 5 years, so to broaden her chances she applied to some BA’s, some BFA’s, and some schools that required no audition, like Columbia.

@SCMHAALUM Congratulations! Good luck to everyone waiting on those final decisions and good luck to everyone waiting on wait lists to move and best of luck to everyone as they begin making their decisions and commit to their programs!

Congrats to everyone on the good news! Hope all those still waiting hear good news soon. We actually appealed our financial aid and waiting to hear if they will grant more, felt it was worth a shot. Either way she will end up at Point Park but felt it didn’t hurt to ask.

We appealed financial aid at another school and were denied. It was worth a shot but felt like a rejection. Curious if appeals work for others.

My daughter committed at Utah, so she’s officially going to be a ballet BFA major there this fall. She is happy with her choice and excited (and nervous) about this next chapter in her life. I feel the same way, along with pangs of realizing that she is really and truly leaving the nest pretty soon.

Congrats!! @mom2adancer

Congratulations @mom2adancer!!!

Well D18 cares so little about Berkeley that she hadn’t even bothered to set up her portal. So we don’t know the result. She’s more interested in picking her housing at Utah this afternoon. Her twin brother was admitted to Berkeley, which is good because its a school he’s actually interested in. Finally all done with results (Princeton yesterday was a no), now for decisions. Hers is easy, his is not.

EDIT: She did get into Berkeley. Still isn’t interested though.

Does anyone know how you are contacted if you come off the alternate list at Pace?

Congrats @mom2adancer and @Twoin18. Guess your daughters will be classmates at Utah!

@Undercovermom1 No dance scholarships specifically yet. Now that we have the final list we are going to visit and push a little harder on the dance side of scholarships.

@24bunheadmom20 We are in SoCal and heading to visit Fordham next week so will probably pass on the SF event. Will definitely post after our visit next week.

@Pusheen1 We heard from UC Irvine in early March. He got accepted (dance and academic are combined) but didn’t receive any scholarship money.

@Twoin18 it sounds like our dancers will be freshmen together. Congrats on all of her (and her brother’s) wonderful acceptances, academic and dance alike.

I didn’t expect this but my son got accepted by Stanford (biology). We’ll have some soul searching to do during next week’s spring break.

Your son has some wonderful choices SCMHAALUM! Good luck making a decision:)

Wow, amazing. What a tough decision though. I’m glad we didn’t have to think about that with Princeton
