From another poster’s info, sounds like later afternoon/evening on the 12th (maybe 4 pm ET)
Spoke with Admissions today… looks like December 12 is the day they will release decisions for Admission and Financial Aid They will send out an email a couple of days earlier to confirm, but most likely it will be later in the afternoon/early evening. Good luck to everyone!
@hapisjoy yeah I had an interview. How about you?
@minniemouse143 - THANK YOU!
What are everyone’s thoughts on the whole “there’s a correlation between getting a detailed financial aid email and getting accepted” thing? I remember this was a very hot topic last year in the 2022 applicants chat and I’m curious if anyone has gotten any emails.
@screamingkettle I think that was mostly in the RD thread from last yr. I got an email thanking me for my app & reminding me to apply for financial aid if I haven’t yet for funding but someone told me that it’s generic & every international applicants got one. So I don’t think financial aid & admission correlates.
Our S is RD but we wouldn’t even get an email from financial aid since we aren’t submitting anything and are full pay. So I guess we won’t have to read those tea leaves in March!
Did anyone get a packet recently from Dartmouth. With school info?
@AdaCzyka what kind of packet? Like a book?
@AdaCzyka What kind of school info? Like stats for the school and reasons to apply? They recently sent me a 3D magazine and some other propaganda stuff, if that’s what you mean.
Yea, that’s the one.
Asking because a fellow applicant didn’t receive it
Means nothing
I doubt it signifies anything, they’re probably using the same list from before applications and there are so many other reasons your friend may not have gotten their packet (snail mail has some issues).
I received a super personal and detailed financial aid email today with a few questions about my CSS and FAFSA finances from the financial aid office. I’ve heard there is a correlation between these types of emails and acceptances because they don’t start packaging a student for aid until after they are put in the “admit” pile because that would be a waste of resources. I’m really trying to rein in my optimism here, am I crazy for thinking there could be a chance?
@screamingkettle Ahhh I hope you’re accepted – that sounds very hopeful!!! Good luck!!!
@screamingkettle what does it say exactly? Can you copy& paste it here? Or private message me plz : )
@Milo321 Here is the first email (It’s been a few emails now working out some irregularities)
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
I’ve deleted the text of the email.
I never heard of that. What happened with financial aid?
@financekid123 I just messed something up because I’m borderline illiterate with financial information, It was an account problem where I mixed something up, but I’m glad I did because it at least means I haven’t been eliminated from the applicant pool yet if they care enough to get it sorted out (that’s my interpretation at least).
Gotcha. Glad to hear it all worked out!
