well...if we all get rejected, we should have a rejection party. However, at least someone from here has to get in. CC is like the best of the best in the application pool...(overstatement)

Just got my pin in the mail today also, my first small envelope from dartmouth :(. god i cant wait till december 15th!

i recieved my pin as well. My first thought was actually...wow i was rejected fast.

Yeah, I was like "Hmm...maybe they're sending out the opposite of likely letters for early decision...unlikely letters!" I can just see myself reading it: "This is just a note to let you know that while official letters will not be sent until December, you are such a complete idiot that we wanted to let you know ahead of time how miniscule your chances are. Have a nice day!"

hey guys. Im kinda nervous. I received a dartmouth letter few days ago but I lost it. It was for my pre application. Is that the letter that you guys are receiving or is it the one for your common application. Anyway, Im from Vietnam so it might take a little more time to get to me. Is the letter really that important and what if i lost it.

and where are you supposed to get your Pin, via email or mail

add me to the ed list

hey megagear. the first letter i received was just basically telling me that they had started a file on me. the second one was the one saying they'd received my materials and had assigned me a pin number.

just call the admissions office, they're really nice and I bet they'd be able to help you.

Thanx So Much Mishy

Hi, My daughter applied ED, and I was originally against this decision (looking for merit-aid at other colleges) but now I'm really hoping that she gets in. I have 2 questions: We've heard that Catholic high schools are not favored, can anyone comment on this? 2) D's guidance counselor has told her to hold all her apps until she hears. Is this the common practice? It seems like we are waiting until the last minute. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Jennsmom:

I'm having the guidance office at my school send out my transcripts to other schools before the 15th, and I'm having my teachers send their recommendations. I'm also planning on finishing my other applications, but I'm going to hold off actually sending them in until I hear back from dartmouth. Why waste $60+ per application fee if it turns out I don't have to apply anywhere else? crosses fingers

If I haven't received my pin yet and I sent out my application at the very end of October should I worry?

did you send it electronically or by mail? mail could take a while hence the delay

Ack. I'm so stupid- I completely forgot to send my SAT scores to Dartmouth! Is it OK if I rush them today.. they should be there by the end of this week. I'm just afraid they won't consider me for ED if my application isn't finished.

Blah. So, who here's hoping for a medium-sized letter? My hopes of getting a really really thick letter are zero to none, so I figure that a medium sized one is better than an anorexic letter.

I sent it electronically.

^ give it a few days. check common app and see if it has been downloaded. also where do you live? i am in ct so its a short distance for mail.

It says it has been downloaded. I'm in NY.

Mine also said that it has been downloaded but since I am in Vietnam, I should expect another 2 weeks b4 the pin gets to me rite

i guess so. I sent it in oct 29. They downloaded it oct 31 and sent out my pin oct 31 as well. I got the letter like nov 2
