***Dartmouth Class of 2022 RD Applicants Discussion***

Yeah, I emailed them yesterday and they said the same thing. They also said that it’s not too late to send in a peer recommendation.

Is it going to reflect poorly on me if I didn’t get contacted for an interview? Kinda freaking out

@syd24ranger Not getting an interview is definitely not a reflection of your merit. According to Dartmouth Admissions, “Not having an interview will not put you at a disadvantage in the admissions process. However, if you are offered an interview, it can help you learn something new about Dartmouth and allow you to add a little more of your own voice to your application.” It just means that there wasn’t an alumni available in your area. Maybe there was a high volume of applicants, maybe there just aren’t any alumni available near you. Who knows? But it is not a bad sign that you didn’t get one, and the fact that you didn’t won’t be used against you.

In previous years, the likely letters were sent out in the second half of Feb.

Has anyone received a likely letter yet?

My daughter just interviewed for Dartmouth this past Thursday. The interviewer contacted her on Tuesday. Isn’t that kind of late?

@NJParent49 - Yes. That is late. Interview reports were due on Feb. 18th. Perhaps an alum had more slots open up and they asked them to do a couple more interviews. I don’t think they would interview someone and take the time to write it up, etc if they didn’t think it would be accepted and “count” toward the application.

I just got interviewed the day before yesterday. The interviewer just called me without any prior notification and we had the interview over phone.

I was contacted for an interview but my interviewer lost his voice so it had to be cancelled! Poor guy :frowning: I haven’t been lucky enough to be contacted for another one but I am not too stressed about it… I’m honestly so over this college process!

Have they started sending out likely letters for this year?

If I wanted to send a little update to Dartmouth would it be best to do it through the portal or should I send an email?

Portal would be the best way to do it because your update will be added directly to your file.

About this time last year, some people on last year’s thread said their financial aid portals were starting to show additional documents, and they established that there at least seemed to be some degree of relation to admissions.

Has anyone had anything change in their financial aid portal?

The sample size on this website is too small to show any correlation, and also we don’t have financial aid portals for Dartmouth, just a financial aid tab that shows what documents they have received.

Right, but people said that new documents were appearing in the financial aid tab.

Even if there is no correlation, just curious is anyone’s has changed…

@22collegegrad I had additional documents added to mine on Feb 18 followed by a request for more info. I know inthe past it meant something, but who knows anymore.

@Lemonade22 What additional documents were added? I’m curious as to whether they were added to my portal.

Financial aid is separate from admissions. And it’s much too early anyway. It’s a waste of time to speculate and get all worked up over nothing. 23 days til decisions. All we can do is wait!

International student here. Just received an alumni interview request. Does this mean anything?

@Zuzuland All it means is that you got an alumni interview request.
