***Dartmouth Class of 2022 RD Applicants Discussion***

There are also several threads in the past specific to Dartmouth about late fin aid emails (March or even late February) correlating highly to an acceptance or waitlist; other schools may be iffy but in Dartmouth’s case it seems pretty clear

You can think whatever you want to think, in the end if you are rejected it will be your own fault that you got your hopes up. If there is indeed a correlation, then congrats but there’s no way of knowing until decisions come out so there is literally no point in speculating. People who applied for financial aid: don’t count on getting this email. Most accepted students won’t. If you do, then good for you, but If you don’t, then don’t assume you were rejected. If other schools including Bowdoin were able to put together a financial aid package for me without asking for any extra information then I will assume Dartmouth will not be contacting me. Just relax. The decisions are made by now, speculating won’t change anything.

@sciencenerd123 thanks for your help, that makes me feel better. I apologize for bringing it up in case I set anybody on edge! Congrats to you on the Bowdoin acceptance, maybe we will see each other there haha:) I’m going to stop checking the portals and just wait it out till the decisions are released. We should all relax a little:)

It’s alright I’m used to disappointment anyway :’ (

Best of luck to everyone!

Thanks @Green123. Congrats to you as well!!! I have very low hopes for next week lol. Fingers crossed for Brown (deferred ED) but if it doesn’t work out then at least I have Bowdoin. The good thing is by next week I will probably know where I will be headed next fall. Yikes  :).

@“Maschinenmädchen” that sounds like me exactly. Had things missing in financial aid at UChicago/Swarthmore and was never contacted, but we fixed it. I was waitlisted at both. Hounded over and over for more specific financial aid info at Cornell, even after my portal was complete, and just received a likely letter.

I haven’t heard anything from Dartmouth (not missing anything this time though  ) so we’ll see.

@SuperGymnast_04 Congratulations on Cornell!!! What is your major?

@Maschinenmädchen thanks so much!! I applied to CALS for biological sciences and I believe I applied to Dartmouth for biochemistry.

anyone else deferred early decision and still salty af?

lol a little

@sweetcookie Me with Brown lol. I would 100% go if they accepted me though. I would be a little bitter, but I would go :). Good luck! And good luck to you too @this-field-is-required! Deferrals suck.

I’m more salty about my MIT waitlist

did everyone just get an email from Dartmouth about 10 minutes ago?

I got the email.

yes on email

everyone gets that email

What’s it about?

Thanks @sciencenerd123

So I’ve been getting a ton of emails over the past few weeks about my FA being incomplete (simply because I’m terrible at getting things done oops) and I know admissions and FA are completely separate, but is it at all a good sign? Like my inbox is lowkey being flooded with emails from them and the fact that I got another one today when decisions come out in like 4 days grabs my attention.

Ugh, idk, should I just relax and wait four more days without speculating?
