@sciencenerd123, so glad it went well! Rooting for you and the other applicants!
Did anybody get the financial aid extra info request? Is this a good sign?
@Lemonade22 Where did you get that request? IDoc?
“Although the Admissions Committee is still deliberating, the Financial Aid Office is currently reviewing Class of 2022 documents. We want to ensure that when candidates are selected for admission, we will have sufficient information on file to make a financial aid decision.”
I got this yesterday in the morning signed by Kim Prestridge. Did you get this? @DDHH2017
@Lemonade2022 In the mail? Idk because I live far from Dartmouth but not that I know of.
it does not mean anything. Admissions and financial aid functions as 2 separate departments. Financial aid does not know how has been accepted. They must do preliminary packages for everyone. Just make sure that you send the information required so if you are selected, you can get a correct financial aid package.
@sybbie719 I have heard about this many times, but always wondered why colleges do that. Doesn’t it save many many resources communicating between the 2 departments and calculating financial aid for only the ~10% accepted? it just seems like a waste to do it for people who end up rejected right away. I guess it would delay some aid packages, but applicants could just submit the FAFSA earlier if they want quick financial aid.
Remember when they actually package a student. lot of this work is being done electronically
If you have not received notification for additional information then it could mean they are automatically pulling information they need from IDOC. I know they have not requested more information from my son but I noticed they have pulled more documents from IDOC to consider.
My peer recommendation was submitted via email, but it still hasnt shown up. She (allegedly) emailed it for me in the first week of January, and then again at the start of this month. But I still don’t see the green check mark on my application portal and when I emailed Dartmouth two weeks ago they said nothing was attached to my application but it might be waiting in the system.
They also say that the “note” my guidance counselor attached to my Mid-year report on January 15 isnt attached to my profile, but other schools have confirmed stated they received it.
In short, is Dartmouth just taking a long time to processes stuff, or does anyone think something larger is amiss?
Anyone knows when will the results of RD be released?
@goodlucktouall March 28!
at 7pm
@Inxight could you cite the source where you saw it would be 7pm?
i saw it on princeton’s website and all the ivies follow suit so im assuming the same would happen for dartmouth
7pm central eastern or pacific?
@bros20000 Eastern.
7pm seems a bit too late.
Hey guys, can colleges make changes to your FAFSA and submit those changes themselves?
Yes they can!!! They are required to make the change
