<p>As someone who has an essay that is centered around being a young writer in a poor community in Africa, I have found metaphors to be a great example of my writing ability as opposed to saying, “I am a great writer because…”</p>
<p>So perhaps in some instances metaphors are pivotal to the essays impact</p>
<p>Some of the people who have reviewed my essay have thought that my figurative language was misleading. Then again, only a few out of many have thought this. I personally believed my message was really clear. I hope the admissions officers see that too…</p>
