<p>In regard to the post above: I believe it is because that among the Ivies, Dartmouth and Princeton are the most similar. Both are located in woody, more or less secluded environments. Both have a strong emphasis on undergraduate education. Both are regarded as two of the more (if not most) social Ivies. People who are looking for the aforementioned things in their college probably won't apply to schools like Columbia or UPenn, with their urban environments and larger graduate programs. I agree with toykorevelation9, after all every college has its own unique personality and culture. However, I also believe that Princeton and Dartmouth are more similar than not.</p>
<p>I agree, I think Princeton and Dartmouth are very similar. Dartmouth, socially, is less preppy and more laid-back casual and also has the outdoors element. But they are both incredibly social schools of similazr size with significant undergraduate resources.</p>

Why not? My top two choices were Chicago and Duke, and I had a terrible time choosing between them. Having totally different schools can make it difficult to pick.</p>
