Does Dartmouth only require a peer evaluation as a transferee's common app supplement?
Also, how strong of a biochemistry program does the school have?

Yes on the peer evaluation for transfers. Can't help on biochem.

Where is the supplement? It still says 'Not yet available' on CommonApp.

wayward,
My face is red! I know that the actual supplement isn't available until Jan, but I thought I saw the peer evaluation for transfers mentioned on either on the CA or Dartmouth webesite. But I can't find it now, perhaps I was thinking of last year??? I apologize for giving bad information and thank wayward for questioning it.

Found it! When you log into the CA and have Dartmouth listed as one of your transfer schools, you go to the supplements tab and it will show PDFs for both the peer evaluation and arts supplement for Dartmouth.

Is there not another supplement with essays et al?

Not sure, but in reading the Dartmouth website and looking at their Freshman application, there may not be any additional essays. On their description of what they look for, they talk about your reasons for wanting to transfer to D, that should be covered in the main essay in the CA. The D supplement for Freshman only asks for basic data, plus 5 words to describe yourself; no other extra essays or questions. This is all just conjecture at this point, guess we'll find out for sure in a few days.

Do they still want the peer recommendation in by the first even for transfers, or should we send it in with the whole app by the transfer deadline?

I didn't realize it said the first, I would think that's just an artifact of using it for the freshman application too. Some schools are even asking transfers not to send anything until after the first as they're so congested with freshman paperwork. We're going on the assumption that it's due with the rest of the packet in March.

Splendid. I was getting a trifle worried.

I don't remember filling out the peer rec...

i don't believe the peer rec is a part of the transfer application. yes, i see that it does appear on the common application as a form to be submitted, but if you look at the dartmouth admissions website, there is no mention of it for transfer.

i really hope my reasoning is correct. i could ask a friend for a rec, but my intention to apply as a transfer is something that i had planned to keep private ... i've been saving face to my friends claiming that i'm happy at my current university so that i am not embarrassed if i don't have any options (and staying put isn't the end of the world for me either).
