After the results came out, I found I had three options--Dartmouth, UChicago, and Vanderbilt w/ Full tuition. I was wondering if you guys could help me decide which school to take. My aspirations are to work in finance, specifically Wall Street (Investment Banking). Which school would you guys think is the best?

Dartmouth.

Dartmouth. Unless you cant afford it, then Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt or Dartmouth

What are the cost constraints? Dartmouth would be the top choice here with Chicago following close behind. However if money is a serious issue and if you’re going to have to take several tens of thousands in loans to attend either of these places, go Vanderbilt. It is a solid semi-target with a top reputation for finance in the south (second to only Duke and maybe Texas McCombs).

I’ve definitely seen more dartmouth alumns in banking/private equity

Is this a joke? Dartmouth, by far.

^ That’s not biased at all.

^ That doesn’t even matter. The other schools don’t even come close in terms of recruiting.

UChicago definitely rivals Dartmouth in its OCR so I don’t know what you’re talking about.

I’d say UChicago=Dartmouth. Sure, Dartmouth may get more recruiting, but proportionally more students will apply to the ibanking positions. It evens out in the end. I was deciding between UChicago, Dartmouth, and Duke. I ended up picking UofC. Have you decided yet?

Then Vanderbilt is a whole level below for ibanking recruitment.

Everyone I’ve met from UChicago is miserable, but that’s a small sample size…

Dartmouth seems to be a better-rounded experience

Every BB recruits at Vanderbilt. I have no bias; that’s just a fact. Look at the graduating class profile and you’ll see GS, UBS, JPM, Deloitte, etc. It’s probably only semi-target because of the low number of people it actually puts on the street, but that’s probably more of a reflection of the most likely relatively low number of students who aim for IB and less of a reflection of its status as target/semi-target/non-target.

That being said, I’d definitely go to Dartmouth. It’s a million times more fun that UChicago from what I’ve heard.
