Dartmouth is one of the colleges on my list for next year. I was comparing Dartmouth to its similar counterparts (Cornell, Brown, etc) and I was wondering about the course rigor in the science majors. How deep do the science courses go in terms of course breadth?

I know these majors usually tend to be a harder part of the university, but I also enjoy the laid back atmosphere from Dartmouth. Would it be possible being a science major (biology) and still be part of the laid back atmosphere (compared to the other ivies) at Dartmouth?

Also, can someone comment about the professor's grading? Are there any grade inflation/deflation? Is an 'A' mostly 90+ or is it like only the top 20% get A's, and if somehow the top 20% scores 95+, a person not in the top 20% (say with a 92), will get a B+ or worse.
