do nyu students party w/ surrounding colleges (i.e.-columbia)? there's really not many datable guys here so i was wonderin wut girls do lol.

i totally believe you. Normally there is no interaction between NYU and any of the surrounding campuses(I know, pathetic.) I actually just got back from that beach ball dance thing and it was pathetic. Im a guy ( I consider myself dateable) But its true, most are too shy to date.

Yeah, the Beach Ball was pretty lame, I was there, too. I have actually met a few Columbia students who came down to NYU to hang out because Columbia’s area is so boring. There is literally nothing to do there, which is just one more reason NYU is so much better than Columbia. So far, dating has seemed more than easy for some of my new friends…you know who you are.

i’ve definitely partied with Columbia kids before, but that was when i was a sophomore already, not a freshmen.

i’ve met a lot of attractive guys here. i’m pretty involved with student government and the student resource center, so i meet people from all the different student groups.

however, my boyfriend doesn’t even GO to an NYC area school. he went to Cornell.

the point is, don’t worry if you don’t meet someone the first week here. (it hasn’t even been a week!)

The dating scene in NYC is awesome. There is plenty of interaction with other campuses. New York is one of those places where people are pretty outgoing. south of Washing Square Park is full of young people and has arguably the best night life in the city. Only dorks go to those school mixers so chances of meeting anyone at one of those things are pretty slim (no offense to the people who attended.)

NYU doesn’t have the typical college environment at all. There are close to nine million people in the city so I’ll go out on a limb and say there are plenty of date able guys, you just can’t expect the same type of dating scene as you would anywhere else.
