What programs is Agnes Scott best known for? My daughter is really interested in the school.

Well, it’s a liberal arts college so that is the focus.

Creative Writing/literature, any pre-med major like biology, chemistry, etc…, pre law (keep in mind, premed and law are not majors…your daughter could major in anything and still get the requirements for med school/ law school). Economics/organizational management.

I can’t speak to the music dept. but they offer a lot of music scholarships.

They have some dual degree programs with other colleges - GA TECH for engineering, EMORY for nursing, etc…

It’s a great school - if your daughter is a go-getter there is endless opportunity for her to do all kinds of things, be in leadership roles, etc…

Thanks Pearl. She’s not sure about ASC now because they don’t have an education major. I told here there might be dual degree programs with one of the other Atlanta colleges. We still plan to take the tour.

I know that they have a lot of classes in education, or at least they used to. They had a Masters program for teachers, but has since ended the program.

I would call and speak with the admissions dept and ask about students who want to become teachers - maybe they have a plan or program in place (she could still major in her specialty area and then work out the education classes a different way like though cross registration with another school.
