Dave Mathews Band at USNA

Well final word has been approved that if USNA does win the Dave Mathews Band competition that the band will be allowed to perform here this year.

To support the cause, go to www.attblueroom.com, register as a USNA supoorter and keep submitting votes for Dave Mathews Band to come here. It would be a huge spirit lift. This is a national competition, and to make it even sweeter, it's a three way race at the top between Army, Navy, and Air Force, in that order. We can't let Army get a free DMB concert over us. Here are the overall standings:

U.S. Military Academy
U.S. Naval Academy
U.S. Air Force Academy
University of Tulsa
Southern Methodist University
SUNY Buffalo
Baylor University
Miami (Ohio)
Syracuse University
Bowling Green
University of Connecticut
Washington State
Auburn University
Vanderbilt University
University of Pittsburgh
Iowa State
Louisville University
University of Iowa
Oklahoma State
Clemson University

As you can see, a lot of these places have much larger student bodies than we do, so every vote counts. Many alumni and friends have been helping out by voting. This is something that many midshipmen would love to see happen.

My mid gave me a heads up on this too. I'm voting daily and Army has disappeared from the leader board...;)

Come on Navy fans, show your support for the mids!

I just signed up as soon as I read your post. I will also post this on my state parent's group website - it's a pretty active group, and they can get in on the contest, too.

Oh, and I'll get my daughter (15) to engage her little web of MySpace friends. She's always on there when she should be doing her homework - might as well put it to good use! :)

"USNA in the Lead! "

Look again. :0

usna09mom - I don't know what list you are looking at but right now the top four are: #1 USMA, #2 Tulsa, #3 USNA, #4 USAFA.

apologies to the Army parents (can't believe I said that ;))--USNA was at the top of my list when I logged in and Army vanished! As much as I hate to admit it, USMA is leading in the overall voting, temporarily...

Additionally, Army is recruiting votes on their forum under "Help West Point." Will Navy supporters allow this to continue? Each individual is allowed to vote 50 times each day. Do your part! Go Navy!

Yikes! Now we are fourth!

You guys gotta learn to sail first! :)

ARMY SAILS PAST NAVY
Army defeated Navy in the 2007 Spirit Rider Regatta held in Long Beach, NY Sept. 7-9. The regatta, sponsored by the Corinthians Sailing Association for Collegiate Sailing and the O'Keefe Foundation, was held in honor of all of those who paid the ultimate price on Sept. 11, 2001. The Army will face Navy again in the Storm Trysail Club's Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta Oct. 6-7. (Photo provided)
