<p>The Cal site is back up but no decision posted -- at least for my D.</p>
<p>I just looked through the postings for March 2005 and UC Berkeley didn't post decisions early last year. They posted on March 31, which was a Thursday BUT the last day of the month. They are posting on Thursday, March 30 this year because Friday, March 31 is a universitiy holiday.</p>

<p>Not sure if your daughter also applied to UCSD, but my son did. He was accepted. But the website was a joke. There were errors for hours, most of the day on Saturday. My son also applied to UCLA, and was accepted. UCLA's website had no problems when posting the information. I wonder if people from UCB have read the angry posts from the UCSD site, and are doing testing and planning to hopefully avoid the same situation.</p>

<p>Wait a sec...Friday is a university holiday? I didn't know about this. Both the 30th and the 31st happen to be during our spring break...what's going on?</p>

<p>Yes, March 27-31 is Spring Break for UC Berkeley. There are no classes that week but faculty and staff are supposed to be on campus working M-TH. Friday, March 31, is an official UCB holiday so offices, etc., are closed and buildings are locked and faculty and staff are not required to be at work.</p>
<p>since it is a holiday, they may not post. However, I work in IT within my corporation, and believe me, holidays are for the lucky workders who work regular 9-5 type jobs. New Release code, Updates, etc., often go in on "holiday" weekends, and almost always on weekends in general. </p>
<p>To add to that comment; most UC employees probably go home in the late afternoon, or early evening. Yet, software updates are typically pushed out by IT folks in the evening, quite often, the middle of the night. </p>
<p>My point? I doubt that they would post the following on their admission website, if they did not mean it. Do you think that they don't have calendars? </p>
