Finally free of college acceptance doom

All the community service I've ever done has been completed with one thing in mind...college. The lack of passion is horrible, but it's true.

I'm a senior and have sent out most of my college apps. I've done everything I can do to try and convince these colleges that I'm their girl....and now I'm finally feeling the freedom.
Today I went and volunteered at a church. We made thanksgiving lunches and passed them out to the homeless. It was so incredibly rewarding that I hope to participate in something similar next Thanksgiving, or even better, start a program similar to this at my college.
I also suddenly want to learn to play the guitar. I start lessons next weekend and I want to start volunteering at the old folks home next semester when classes lighten up.

A lot of people on CC have been fortunate enough to discover their passions as a freshman in high school, but I am really thankful to finally be free of the "college acceptance doom." I am doing everything because I want to and it feels greatttttttttt.

Anyone else feeling this way?

Yes, now I don't have to impress my teachers anymore.
Which, paradoxically, has caused them to like me more. I think.

I envy you so much!
I hate being junior, wish I was in the same spot you are.

naidu- only 9 more months. I'm a junior too and can't wait for this. Just be optomistic. 9 months goes by like lightning

I won't be free until February, when this semester ends. :(

9 months..... :-(

Nine months, kinda like carrying a baby. It'll be over before you know it, but not before giving birth! XD

hahahahah yanners

awesome. now i know what it is like to be PREGNANT without all the morning sickness and doctors appointment. instead its appointments with the SAT and college campuses.

awesome.

I'm turning Gothic or emo as a senior I bet . . .

This is going to be a long, slow 9 months :(
I should be optimistic and think of all the holidays, but it gets ruined when I think that I have to study during those holidays

It's not bad if you have something you enjoy. I am a junior and I'm loving it!

I'm finally done with college applications! so now I can stop worrying and actually enjoy things!
