Well put illuminar

very, very well stated.

YALE MATERIAL RIGHT THUR

This is why I know I was deferred. Well, the main reason. My app was too straight-edge.

It's unfortunate though; that just because you weren't able to convey that intangible something about you in your essays/app, they don't even want to consider you.

Haha this is kind of torturous. Throughout the week, we watch the returns from other colleges, slowly graduating in selectivity until Stanford, the one most similar to Yale. And as we watch the trend becomes ever more depressing...

hellosail

thanks, but I can't seem to find waht exactly the online decision site they are referring to is.
"You will use the new password that you choose at that time, and your username, to log into the online decision site. "

Is it the application status site?

Am confused.

decisions will be posted on your ELI account which you should have already created

Omgomgogmogm1!!!!

My bff just got in!

^^ If you go to the "application status" page: Online Decisions and click on "eli account login," instead of going to a login page, it sends you to a list of options. The first option is "Early Action Online Decisions." It's "closed" now, but that's where it is.

@Eating food: Did your friend apply to Stanford?

Dear Yale:

Please don't pull a Stanford. Stanford rejected EVERYONE

I was going to start a joke thread, to say admissions results were released early just for fun... but after seeing the Stanford forum, I died a little inside... I now know how I can release adrenaline at will... yay...

ooooh, i gotcha. Thanks for the help!

OH GOD.

I TAKE THAT BACK.

Please, please don't pull a Stanford. Even if it means a late notice, even a delay, but PLEASE, Yale, don't pull a Stanford.

It's UNBELIEVABLE how they reject people so qualified.

OH, FUDGE!!

yeah my friend applied SCEA to Stanford and he GOT IN!!!

(Oprah! on CC if any of you have seen him)

Haha your friend has an amazing screenname, eating food xD

Anyways, I'm guessing nobody else has had a problem logging into their Eli account? :/ Hm, I just hope this doesn't happen on Monday, or I'll have to rush to the library to check my decision... -_-

^^ I haven't tried it in a while. I don't want to jinx it...

Stanford accepted less than 700 out of 5300.
I hope it's a higher acceptance rate for Yale!!!

I got rejected from Stanford, by the way. Today is weird for a few reasons:
1) I totally was not expecting to receive the email
2) STANFORD EATS BABIES!
3) I had already come to terms with the fact that I would get rejected, so when I did I was not shocked or sad. I haven't cried or anything. My parents, on the other hand, started making me feel rather disappointed. They said "You should be sad because it's one of the top schools in the world"...yes, thank you parental units.

Basically the moral of my post is don't stress over the decision. I know that Yale is the first choice for all of you (as Stanford was my first choice), but the college that you go to (especially for undergrad. school) will not define your happiness or success in life. I've already moved on and started to re-do the order of the schools I applied to. I bumped Stanford off completely and moved some around.
When doing this and reading material from these schools I realized something: I wouldn't have been happy at Stanford. I became so obsessed with Stanford back in April that I couldn't fall in love with any other schools. I now feel passionately about 5 of the other schools I applied to, and I think that 2 of them would provide me with a better education and experience than I would have received at Stanford for my particular major.

Anyways, good luck to all of you!!!

Thanks, Manzagal3. I hope everything works out well for you, too. :)
