Debate, IR, and Merit Aid

Hi! I’m a junior at a medium sized private school in my state. I’m placed 26 out of 250 with an unweighted GPA of 3.85 and a weighted of 4.2. I’m taking one AP class (APUSH) and all honors classes. My ACT score stands at a 31 but Im thinking I could get it a point or two higher. I plan on taking the SAT this spring.

My extracurricular activities include coaching scholars bowl for my local school, competing in cross country and tennis, and most importantly speech and debate. My speech (forensics) experience consists of winning multiple local tournaments and taking 4th at state. My debate experience involves travelling across the country to compete in tournaments, taking 2nd at state, and qualifying to Nationals.

My (mostly) decided degree is International Relations and Affairs. The issue lies in our family positioning. We are too wealthy to receive need based aid but have multiple siblings in college. My desire to attend law school compounds the problem.

It may be impossible but I’m looking for a college with a decent IR program that’ll give me a 80% or full ride off merit. Any help? Thanks!!

80% off is a useless metric. Tell us what you can afford per year and we can be helpful. Also tell us what the net price calculators are telling you at a couple of colleges based on your family income and assets.
