<p>I love LD circuit debate in HS. However, I learned recently that Chicago only has an APDA Parli debate team. A quick wiki search told me that APDA uses lay judges and it just doesn't team as technical as I'd like it. Is this true or will I have to embrace how to debate in front of crappy judges?</p>
<p>No clue about debate, but Mock Trial and Model UN are both wildly popular, and the U of C fields some very good teams, if you're interested in either of those.</p>
<p>I don't think you can call them "crappy judges" necessarily... But APDA does put out awesome debates, certainly not worse than LD IMHO.</p>
