Hello all,

Found this website doing some basic legwork regarding my interest in changing college majors. Browsed for a day or so, decided it was time to take some action.
Here is my back story, I am currently an undergrad at a no-name college with a major of Math and Science Education, my GPA isn't great (hovering around 3.0) niether is my timing (took two years off after High School to attept playing golf professionally, all I really accomplished was adding debt)
Anyways, I am starting to notice all of the enticements of teaching (Solid pension, good union) will likely be evaporated before I am able to really thrive in my chosen career path. This coupled with the sometimes laughable salary of a teacher is quickly extinquishing my passion for teaching.
I however, am very problem solving oriented, I have a strong background in math, and also the ability to understand/apply things that make zero logical sence (Physics). I was led to pursuing education in accounting or finance.
My real question, given all of these not so desirable attributes about myself, is it still possible to have a successfull career in accounting? I am somewhat old for my current standing, but starting my professional career at 28 willl not bother me, will it bother potential employers?

Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated!
